Time to Make a Difference
On September 22, 2008 Sarah Palin saw the first drop of what would become a deluge of needed scrutiny.
The Alaska Democratic Party (ADP) joined at least 18 other news organizations and groups filing requests for information following the Palin abuses of office that were revealed during the attack and ultimate firing of one of Alaska's most faithful public safety leaders Walt Monegan.
Abuses of power flourish in the dark. Public records requests enable the media and citizens to shine critical light on government actions. We all needed to see what the Governor had done on several very important issues, especially once we found out that she was using not only a government e-mail account, but also a secretive personal email address to conduct government business.
We asked only for emails to or from Governor Palin containing certain words. The Public Records Act calls for the government to turn over the records within 10 days. There is a provision for an automatic extension for another 10 days if needed. It is inexplicable why using simple IT tools that the state government has been unable to perform such a simple request. They still have not turned over the records – and it has been over a year!
The Palin and Parnell Administrations have stonewalled the release of the emails and threatened to levy huge fees if they ever are released - up to $500,000. Five different attorney generals or acting attorney generals have now settled into a routine of granting extensions on a regular basis.
You have the opportunity to help reveal the truth. Sarah Palin has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars pushing her radical, extremist, xenophobic agenda while distorting her job as Governor of Alaska.

Keep Sarah Palin Out of Public Office
If Sarah Palin is her party's nominee for president in 2012 it will be a "catastrophic election" for the GOP, Sen. John McCain's 2008 campaign manager predicted. "In fact, were she to be the nominee we could have a catastrophic election."
John Weaver (of the McCain campaign) telling the "Washington Post" he is almost sure Palin would never win his party's nomination. And that if she did, quote, "it would surely mean a political apocalypse is upon us."
